He’s a Seventh Day Adventist; one of the tenets of that faith is a commitment to the lifestyle, which includes vegetarianism. Kinda weird that he was ever a chickentarian, as he appears to have been born into the faith. Maybe it was a sort of _rumspringa_-type thing for him. ---

I doubt his story, but not because of his being a vegetarian in a Popeye’s. I’m a vegetarian, and I sometimes drop into a fast food place for a soda or something. When Carson’s spokesperson said that Carson wasn’t a vegetarian at the time of the incident, I thought that was probably BS. It would have been a much simpler and more believable lie to say he just wanted a Coke. ---

Carson and his ilk really need to know what they’re talking about when they talk about Nazis and gun control. Neither did an overwhelming majority of the people in Allied countries, for that matter. ---

Most of the candidates know next to nothing about foreign policy, and in spite of what Donald Trump thinks, it can’t be learned in a few days, but they desperately want to look smart. Perry proved that glasses didn’t work, so they learn the name of a foreign leader or two, and then shoehorn it into every interview they have. Fiorina mentioned some Iranian general about a dozen times a day for a while. Carson evidently has worse advisors, and more laughable “facts.” At least he didn’t say the three of them met at a Popeye’s.
