What I will give the right credit for is that they hold Ben Carson to the same standards they hold, say, Hillary Clinton. You know in your heart that if Hillary had said she was offered a West Point appointment, and that she had taken a course that wasn’t offered at the time, there wouldn’t be any more outrage than Ben’s getting.

Hell, if Ben Carson was a Democrat he’d be spending 12 hours in front of a Congressional committee, demanding an explanation into WestPointGate.

I’m Carson’ed out. Let’s talk Rubio. [He released some credit card records](http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/nationworld/ct-rubio-gop-charge-card-statements-20151107-story.html) detailing personal spending on the GOP dime. He claims he paid it all back. But as a voter, I’m a bit more concerned about this:

> [@](#):
>
> Rubio, for example, charged more than $5,000 during his seven-night stay at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas in August 2005. The campaign said he made the trip for political business and then extended it to visit family in Nevada. He paid $1,745 for his portion of the charges in the next billing cycle.

Anyone else a bit concerned about hiring on a public servant who spends $700.00+/night for a hotel room? I dunno, I haven’t seen the records and maybe this included family or entourage. And I’m sure that there’s lots of room for _tu quoque_ here. But since when do state lawmakers get to drop $5K on hotel rooms in a week?

Those fucking resort fees the Vegas hotels tack on to your bill will just kill your credit cards, yanno.

On the other hand, the Venetian is owned by Sheldon Adelson, who probably just spent that $5k on campaigning for Republican candidates anyway, so it all goes full-circle. 🙂

You forget, Carson is a neurosurgeon. Carson autographed Jesus’ copy of the picture.

That’s hardly the worst thing that was said at that little conference. I like (for varying values of “like”) this:
[Don’t you dare carve happy faces on open, pussy sores!](http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/swanson-and-buehner-call-homosexuality-flesh-eating-virus-sores-happy-faces-carved-them)
He also seems to think that gays should be executed. Huckabee, Jindal, and Cruz were all there, and as far as I’ve been able to find, none of them seem to think this is an attitude that ought to be refuted.

What the heck is “amateur prostitution”, and is it administered by the NCAA?

Professional whoring would get you disqualified from the Olympics, unless you’re on the International Olympic Committee, in which case it is expected.

Actually, this story adds credibility to Carson … he was not, in this instance, lying.

Yes. Yes he was. He did not get an award from the president of Yale for being the most honest student, which is what he claimed. He got fooled by a prank, which is what happened.

I think I might have spelled that “pus-y.” The other spelling has quite a different meaning.

Oops. The link showed the spelling as “pussy.”
