[Trump’s first ad shows illegal aliens swarming the border.](http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/jan/04/donald-trump/donald-trumps-first-tv-ad-shows-migrants-southern-/) Only the border is between Morocco and Spain. And it is a closed, walled border.

So, not only does this ad not show Mexicans crossing the border into the US, it also shows how ineffectual a wall would be even if we could get Mexico to pay for it.

Ammon Bundy’s business, Valet Fleet Services, took out a $530,000 loan from the Small Business Administration. The same Small Business Administration which is run by the federal government that Ammon Bundy is fighting against.

Since Sleepy is fading from public view, I thought this would be more amusing here than in one of the threads about his campaign. It is not exactly stupid, _per se_, or an idea, but it is pretty ridiculous. Apparently, the man’s wife is [as bold a bullshitter as her husband](http://www.rawstory.com/2016/01/ben-carsons-wife-has-even-weirder-stories-about-him-than-he-does/),

\*Candy Carson said in her newly-released autobiography that not only was the couple’s youngest son a surprise birth inside their home, but that the former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon reached her just before the boy was born and caught him in one hand while catching the afterbirth in the other.

After delivering the child, she wrote, she “ran up and down stairs” searching around the home for something he could use to clip the placenta off.\*

A woman running around the house, up and down the stairs, right after delivering? Yeah, I am believing that.

Which meant he was running around with her as he had the fruits of her labor in his hands.

Is there a rational reason to lie about stuff like this?
Is this, as it sounds, a dream misremembered as truth, and somehow let pass by whatever passed for the book’s editor?

I don’t know - you hear stories about peasant woman giving birth in the fields and going right back to work, so I guess it is possible if she had an easy, quick labor (which it sounds like she must have). What I don’t understand is why \*she \*was running around while Ben held the baby.

You forget that this women gave birth without drugs. She didn’t have to lie around recovering afterward. An epidural or other meds are why so many women are out of it after birth, not the birth itself.

This being a surprise birth, she also probably didn’t forego all food and drink for hours before birth, like mothers are asked to do in hospitals just in case surgery is required. That doesn’t exactly help with the exertion of childbirth, with or without an epidural.

My wife gave birth twice with no drugs. She was exhausted for sure and in a bit of residual pain, but if she had to get up and move like that, she could have. Especially after the second child. The first one is the hardest.

Yeah, that’s the weird thing. Perhaps that’s simply a mistake in the narrative and she was holding her baby while he ran around. Or perhaps he was busy doing his doctor stuff taking care of and examining the baby.

My wife never did that, but she did eat a rather huge meal about 30 minutes after delivering our second child. She was hungry (7:30PM) and if the staff had allowed her to, I’m sure she could have been up and walking around.

I suspect a fast and relatively easy delivery might not preclude a woman from moving around soon after a delivery.

Was Ben running behind her, baby in one hand, placenta in the other and a mop in his gripping hand, cleaning up all the blood she was splattering up and down the stairs?

That’s pretty much the consensus among those who post online comments on news articles. The phrases “alligator tears” and “oscar performance” were widely used (although usually misspelled.)
