In a word, no.

Apparently, [Georgia introduced a bill allowing for execution by guillotine in 1996](http://www.legis.ga.gov/Legislation/Archives/19951996/leg/fulltext/hb1274.htm), but never got beyond that.

Nazis used it on (at least) the members of the resistance group the White Rose.

Long distance ETA: I was referring to the US only. :smack:

You know, this is another Non-Stupid Idea. If you forego the tumbrils and rotten cabbages and macabre knitting, the guillotine might be the most reliably humane method of execution available.

There’s no evidence that any subsequent claims that a newer method was more humane was valid, certainly.

If we have the death penalty, I will accept the guillotine.

(No, I do not support the death penalty in most cases, so let’s not get side tracked on that.)

There was something there at the end about how LePage wanted to take bets about which hole the head falls into.

Well, as long as we tax his winnings, that is fine.

I’m serious; if you can face driving on roads paid in part from a bet like that, I will begin to believe we get the government we deserve.

So if a Tennessee couple’s marriage is invalidated, are they still legally brother and sister?

Outrageous quotes? Shoots from the hip (and apparently without any thinking at all)?
Why the heck isn’t LePage running for President? If you got him and Trump to debate one-on-one I think you could sell tickets and make a killing.

Well, he could always save on building the contraption and hire some be-headers from the Saudi Arabians, since they appear to agree with him on methods of putting ‘bad guys’ to death…of course, the thought could make his head explode…

Debate? Hell, Trump may have found his VP candidate: TRUMP/PAGE 2016:\_\_\_\_ (you fill in the blank, I can’t bear too).

I was going to suggest that since Maine is a northern state, that Paige should emulate Ned Stark (winter is coming!) and do the beheadings himself . I was surprised to discover that Maine isn’t actually that far north - fooled by the map again.

We were discussing a situation before the placenta had been detached and expelled. The bleeding from the uterine wall doesn’t start until after the placenta comes off of it.

Geography trivia: the closest state to Africa is Maine.

I hope they actually do that. I would laugh at all the straight married couples going “what just happened?” And I’d laugh at the next Republican who said he/she was pro-marriage.
