Sadronically, she is a lifelong R, so the anti-voter-fraud efforts on the part of the Rs are ensnaring their own. ---

So it’s not a perfect system, but it will still accomplish its goal of suppressing far more Dem votes than Rep votes. Even if they weren’t so stupid and/or crazy in so many other ways, the voter suppression thing would be enough to keep me from ever voting for a Republican. ---

Then again, I’m having trouble envisioning a motivation for the Iranians to make this up, and I also can’t come up with a plausible and reasonable message from the Republicans that might have been lost in translation. ---

This would certainly belong there. \*\* Done by Reagan in 1980 and also Nixon in 1968. In '68 Nixon’s agents hinted at better terms in the Paris negotiations if the North Vietnamese didn’t settle. Turns out we had another six+ years of war to go as a result. Seems to be a GOP SOP. ---

That’s the Republican way of negotiating nowadays: Realize you have no leverage, threaten to do something insane, then use the fear of you doing that as leverage! If I had to guess, the Republicans said they would not only reject the nuclear deal, but they’d bomb them and put sanctions back on.
