If they _did_ manage to secede, they’d be howling about their Social Security checks not showing up the next month. Also, given that over 3 million Texans voted for Obama, I think they’d find that the incoming US troops would have more aid and comfort than they imagine. ---

Texas GDP is 1.64 trillion and China holds 1.2 trillion of US treasury bonds, and for sure GDP and debt are not the same thing, but seams like you would be selling Texas on the cheap. ---
