Ok - [this isn’t republicans](http://news.asiaone.com/news/crime/woman-pleads-guilty-law-says-only-men-can-be-guilty-rape#sthash.rSERHAtD.dpuf), but just so that you don’t think America has a monopoly on stupid…

> Naming Carly Fiorina as your Vice Presidential candidate is stupid, in and of itself.

But you have to have SOME kind of diversity in your ticket, and Fiorina, while a woman, at least is not, you know … black. And yeah, she’s said and done a lot of really stupid things and her businesses have all suffered seriously for having her at their helms, but hell, what do you expect? She’s a Republican woman! Women who fall for the Republican Party are like women who fall for bad-boy bikers who deal meth and pimp them out on the side … they’ve got NO judgement whatsoever. I mean, if you want sane and intelligent women as your Republican running mates, the bench isn’t just thin, it’s damn near nonexistent. Look at John McCain! He had to pick Sarah.Fucking.Palin as his running mate! If Palin and Fiorina are the best you can do for Republican female candidates, the rest of the field has to be so fucked up they have to be kept in straight jackets and wear those Hannibal Lector masks that don’t let you bite people.

Thus ends my impassioned defense of Carly Fiorina. it was, within the constraints under which Cruz operated, the best decision he could have made under the circumstances, which is not stupid.

Do it! Everybody who actually has to work with Cruz ends up hating him, so hopefully it wouldn’t take long for justices to end up taking contrary positions just to spite him.

> It’s a pointless exercise, almost certainly, but I don’t see anything particularly stupid about it.

Well, it was done in a profoundly stupid way. First, Ted butchered the introduction, coming _this close_ to calling Fiorina his butt buddy. Seriously, that’s what it sounded like (24:08 into [this video)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kqp1sMbjvE)

Then, Fiorina sang. Dear god, [she sang](http://time.com/4310405/carly-fiorina-sings-ted-cruz-video/). This might have been a humanizing touch if it wasn’t so tone deaf, both in execution, and in terms of convincing the electorate that Carly, as a woman, is ready to take on the awesome dignity and responsibilities of the highest rank in the country if needed.

Also, Ted, you might want to be careful about making speeches about judging executives by whom they choose to hire when you select a running mate who is notorious for being despised by her employees and whose claim to fame is a calamitous merger that crippled an American icon.

So… they put the bill in place to allow counselors to turn patients away, but really nobody has ever actually turned anyone away… so why in hell did they need to pass a bill that was apparently not needed? Why not just title it “The Pandering To Stupid Asshole Republican Voters Bill”?

Because a bill needs a more specific name than that.

I haven’t moved the goalposts at all. I didn’t claim they don’t make fun of terrorists, I claimed they don’t make fun of Islam.

SNL lampooned a mainstream Christian movie. If they can make fun of mainstream Christianity they can make fun of mainstream Islam. The reason they don’t is obvious to all, including you.

Unpossible.
