**Stupid Republican Idea:** Old Navy releases an ad featuring an interracial couple with (black-looking) child. The “White Genocide” crowd go crazy on Twitter, called the white man a “cuckold” and accusing Old Navy of pandering to political correctness and various other things I don’t care to type. **AWESOME Republican Idea** [Step up, Jack McCain](http://edition.cnn.com/2016/05/03/politics/old-navy-interracial-ad-jack-mccain/). Jack is the son of curmudgeon, former Presidential contender and occasionally lucid Republican Senator John McCain. Jack is a Navy pilot and is married to a rather attractive woman of darker hue than himself (also in the military), and took personal umbrage at some of the things the Old Navy critics were saying. This will be interesting to see the party backers and the many, many office holders who were running the #NEVERTRUMP campaign start finding nice things to say about the short fingered vulgarian. ---

You might be surprised. Some will, but many will not. And there’s still the possibility of doing a third party run with a “real Republican” in an attempt to throw the election to the Senate, who would then elect the “real Republican”. Although really, all you have to do is support Gary Johnson. He’s already going to be on the ballot in all 50 states and is an actual former Republican presidential candidate and two term governor. They don’t need to go casting about for alternatives and try to get them on the ballot. It’s time for the Kochs to start leading an effort to get conservative donors and as many party officials as possible behind Johnson’s candidacy. ---

I take it this means you’re giving up on the “John Kasich will pull it out in a brokered convention” fantasy in favor of a new one. ---

Fuckface von clownstick, the rightful leader of the entire clownstick party. All the moderate Republicans are gone, all the sane conservative ones are gone. The real right wingers that demand to get 90% of their agenda for 10% compromise like Boehner are gone. What you have left are a collection of blowhards whose only consistent principle seems to be greed and pretending to believe in the bible because it plays in the sticks. ---

In a sane first world country, it would be someone like Clinton (a conservative) v. someone like Saunders (a liberal), but the center in the USA has pushed so far to the extreme right that it can no longer present candidates who would be considered reasonable conservatives by first world standards. That has left the democrats as the big-tent party that can appeal to both moderate conservatives and moderate liberals, with the republican party only appealing to nutters. If reasonable republicans had stepped up and spoken against about their party’s nutters, they could have had a chance at maintaining a responsible party, but instead too many of them went along with the nutters. They dug their party’s own grave in their race to the bottom. ---
