Rachel Maddow on Friday showed how Trump’s denial of him impersonating a spokesman in attempt to fool the media in the 90’s is double stupid.

First for doing that in the first place, but **he did apologize back then** , of course then the real stupid showed now when he forgets (or willfully ignores) that apology and doubles down now claiming that he never did impersonate anyone.

Highlights of the 26-page platform supported unanimously at the Texas state Republican convention.

I wonder how many of them refrained from sex outside of marriage their entire lives.

The article doesn’t mention how they voted on secession.

Does a failed Republican primary candidate now running as an independent count?

(The story includes the screenshot, which doesn’t show any actual NSFW material (the names “LAYLA RIVERA TIGHT BO–” and “IVONE SEXY AMATEUR” on the first two browser tabs are visible, but the actual browser window shows an innocuous Yahoo search for “Curzon Staffing”.)

The porn tab picture is still up as we speak, and has been for hours. But my biggest problem with the whole thing is that I can’t understand a word the guy writes. His gobbledygook is worse than Sarah Palin’s.

Evidently this plank is just too darn politically correct for the Nebraska Republican State Convention.

> [@](#):

> Be it resolved that the Nebraska Republican Party strongly opposes all degrading remarks toward women, minorities, and other individuals by Republican elected office holders or party officials, including candidates for President of the United States, because such rhetoric tarnishes the GOP’s legacy as the party of Lincoln, alienates millions of Americans, and jeopardizes Republican majorities in the Nebraska Legislature, the United States House of Representatives and United States Senate.

Are they planning on “strengthening our common American identity”\* by giving up _Texan_ culture? I’m going to guess … no.

\*They would have gone for the Leader’s televised speech on conformity near the end of the Twilight Zone episode “Eye of the Beholder” but Serling’s body was spinning too fast. 🙂 They would have gone for “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer”, even with the furrin language, but debate broke down on the last part, who would be the leader. 🙂

The biggest upside for Trump would be twofold:

1. he gets even more press, something he needs like humans need water and air, and

2. it would pretty much keep him from being assassinated. And if he DID die, it’d be obvious who did it. No one except the Palins want Sarah as the CiC.

One speaker cited his years of military service and said he didn’t want to see the country he was proud to defend be broken up. Another asked the audience if they’d forgotten that just a little earlier they’d recited the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance. Another speaker gave more practical arguments: If Texas Republicans say the state should secede, “it makes a joke of our principles,” he said. “Our goal is to restore the country,” he went on. “I’m an American first” — here he was interrupted by loud boos, so he shouted louder — “and I want to restore those [conservative] principles to the country.”…

> The debate dragged on — and the delegates still had to approve the rest of the 26-page platform document. After much parliamentary wrangling and motions and counter-motions, the delegates voted to approve language about the federal government’s having “impaired our right of local self-government,” but voted down the language on Texas secession. More loud boos and grumbling from the secession crowd — but the convention moved to the rest of the platform. By then there was little time left to discuss the other planks, so a motion to move to the vote was passed — though, again, boos and catcalls erupted across the room.

I think I’d rather be the one to go out there and leave them behind. I love this planet, but I’d rather leave it behind and start fresh with sane people who aren’t invested in hating the different or grabbing all the resources for themselves. There might at least be a \*chance \*of getting peaceful interaction between different groups and the willingness to use resources without bolluxing things up.

And seriously, do you want this type of Texan to be the ones the aliens find first?
