OTOH, the white Shasta/Cor runs away with the Calormene noblewoman Aravis and ultimately marries her, so the color-line isn’t necessarily fixed. ---

The character of Emeth is unimpeachable, and there are suggestions of other decent Calormenes. They’re not orcs of Tolkienic predestination. On the other hand, they practice slavery and their state religion worships a demon. In the second half of Narnian history, the human population would seem to be largely of Polynesian descent, through the Telmarines. ---
