TL:DR What? No, no, just saying there was a tradition of President’s acknowledging Jesus up until 2008, when it stopped. That’s all.

The Rev. Axl Rose.

I love this quote:

“I feel like Martin Luther, innocently nailing the 95 theses on the wall, and I’m not even Catholic.”

Cause you know Luther wasn’t trying to stir shit up or anything. He got such a bum rap over innocently yelling to whoever would hear that the entire catholic church was a corrupt heap of filth. It’s not like he meant anything by it. Way to overreact, Pope dude.

Yeah, he didn’t identify Obama by name. Probably he was referencing what everybody knows, that George W. Bush renounced Christianity on January 1, 2009, right? :rolleyes:

More disgusting hijinks from Minnesota: [Family Council asks for ‘respectful debate,’ says gays are pedophiles who engage in bestiality](http://minnesotaindependent.com/81905/minnesota-family-council-asks-for-respectful-debate-calls-gays-pedophiles-who-engage-in-beastiality).

> [@](#):
>
> Tom Prichard, president of the the Minnesota Family Council, the main proponent of state Republicans’ anti–gay marriage amendment, told reporters after the bill’s passage on Saturday night that the goal was not to get “personal” and that he hoped that Minnesotans could have a “respectful discussion.” But documents on the group’s website uncovered by bloggers on Monday are dashing those hopes. A legislative handbook put out by the Family Council states that gays and lesbians engage in bestiality and ingest human excrement and claims that a disproportionate number of “homosexuals” are pedophiles.

The article goes on to quote the Family Council’s “legislative manual,” which has some real doozies. Such as the following:

> [@](#):
>
> One page of the document focuses on “Informed answers to gay rights questions” and offers this example.
>
> ```
> 8. “Gay people are not different in their behaviors from other people.”
>
> 8a. Homosexual practices are often astonishing to heterosexual people. Homosexuals must use body apertures not constructed for sexual penetration or bring their mouth into contact with areas designed for the elimination of human waste, which causes serious hygienic and health risks. Some homosexuals become urolagniacs (ingesting urine and feces) and engage in bestiality as well as other deviant behaviors.
>
> 8d. The homosexual population includes a disproportionate number of pedophiles. Many prominent homosexuals and organization have the stated objective to remove age-of-consent laws from state statutes.
>
> ```

Unbelievable.

"During the House discussion there was predictably some disagreement over whether excluding rape pregnancies from coverage was perhaps the sort of callous treatment a recently violated woman shouldn’t have to deal with. Here’s DeGraaf’s response to Rep. Barbara Bollier’s challenge, as reported by the McPherson Sentinel:

```
Rep. Pete DeGraaf, a Mulvane Republican who supports the bill, told her: "We do need to plan ahead, don't we, in life?"
Bollier asked him, "And so women need to plan ahead for issues that they have no control over with pregnancy?"
DeGraaf drew groans of protest from some House members when he responded, "I have a spare tire on my car."
"I also have life insurance," he added. "I have a lot of things that I plan ahead for.""
```

I always carry an extra vagina just in case I am going to be raped.

> Today House Majority Leader Eric Cantor signaled that the Congress may not be willing to provide aid without accompanying spending cuts to other programs.
>
> …
>
> Any aid package would have to pass through the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, where Cantor serves in a powerful leadership position. [As the _Washington Times_ reports](http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2011/may/23/cantor-learns-delays-lesson-disaster-spending/), Cantor said any aid would need to be offset by other spending cuts, “If there is support for a supplemental, it would be accompanied by support for having pay-fors to that supplemental.” The term “pay-fors” means either spending cuts or tax increases, and the Republicans have firmly stated that they would not pass any tax increases this year.

So Republicans continue taking hostages of anyone in trouble or needing help in order to further their agenda to destroy every social program passed in the last 50 years.

Not so much stupid as just plain evil I guess, but hopefully it will backfire on them. I think they are overlooking the fact that the states hardest hit by the recent tornadoes are critical to any electoral success in 2012. I think I know what that is. When you copy and paste from that website, it includes a web link back to the article, which includes that color formatting for the link. Those tags are not visible in the advanced editing mode, so when I clipped out the back links, I missed some of the formatting tags, but couldn’t see them in the advanced editing mode.

Well, Joplin is pretty strongly GOP, & the smaller population center in a district with Springfield, Mo. (the whitest city in America)–I’m not sure how much difference that will make. Since our fat, fat freshman Congressman (R) made an appearance and went out with the volunteers, he may be able to be re-elected. We don’t vote directly for Cantor.
