Oregon GOP candidate for governor [thinks that only poor women get abused](http://www.opb.org/news/series/election-2016/bud-pierce-sexual-assault-successful-women/). During a gubernatorial debate, incumbent Democratic governor Kate Brown referenced a recent study that showed half of Oregon women—more than the national average—have suffered some form of physical or sexual abuse in their life and revealing that she herself, a practicing lawyer and college professor before entering politics, had been a victim of domestic abuse in the past. At least according to Democrats. In California now an independent commission, which is bi-partisan - does the redistricting. No matter. A finding that gerrymandering is unconstitutional would apply to both parties, which is fine with me. And denying that it happens is absurd.
