Jeezus that was a Moment Of A-holery. But really, am I supposed to believe Kirk was entirely unaware that Duckworth’s late father was an Anglo American veteran? Even then it only points to all of us that he saw someone with ancestry from another ethnicity, and that was fair game to him. (Or, that she has to choose and either be proud she’s Asian-American or be proud she’s a DAR but she can’t be both. Still ignorant.). And the apology had to be pulled out of him with pliers. ---

I love watching Republicans go for Duckworth. They think it’s going to be an easy hit because she’s a woman AND not white, forgetting that she’s also not only a COMBAT veteran (on purpose…she got into the chopper corps because it was the only combat role women could be in at the time), but one who left almost half her body in Iraq. It’s not only HORRIBLE optics but she can and does hit back, hard. ---
