I think that’s going to be Ted Cruz. Gets rid of a potential 2020 rival and would likely get unanimous approval from the Senate: (“Who wants Ted Cruz gone from the Senate? Yes or No.”) ---

He probably wouldn’t take it. Right now, he’s calculating his chances of winning the nomination after Trump screws the pooch. He’s looking at Trump and remembering how everyone says Ted has no chance and thinking, shit, if this guy can do it, I can do it. ---

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court is going to be Ivanka. She was his chief advisor during his campaign, and yet, he hasn’t yet named her for any other post in his administration. Why not? Because he’s saving her for the biggest one. It’s like when they’re announcing the fifth place, fourth place, etc. at a competition. If you know you did very well, then every name that isn’t yours makes you happier, and once they announce the second-place, if it isn’t you, you know you’re first. ---
