Mitch McConnell, leader of the cowards in the Senate, is [now proposing](http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/07/12/mcconnell-proposal-gives-obama-power-to-increase-debt-limit/?hp) that they pass a resolution that gives Obama the power to raise the debt limit on his own, without a vote. Yes, please do it, sir. It will spell all your dooms in the next senate election cycle. “My opponent? Yes, he’s one of those who ran away rather than reach a compromise. It seems that the Republicans hate for democracy is alive and well in Wisconsin. They put candidates on the recall election ballot who were listed as Democrats, but were not. Luckily, it doesn’t appear to have fooled enough voters to have changed the outcome of the elections. He apparently thinks that “America must rewrite the Constitution to force conservative outcomes because we the people consistently elect lawmakers who disagree with [him.]” He’s not getting his own way. Like I said in another thread, I read that the Repubs got a letter from Wall Street bankers and CEOs saying to raise the goddamn debt ceiling. They did a head count and discovered that they caused so much alarm thy can not get it passed. The Baggers won’t give up. But the Social security recipients are a group that votes too. So are the baggers. Either way, the Repubs will pissoff some bloc that votes . So if they can wash their hands of the decision, they can blame Obama and not piss off voters.
