Wisconsin Republican candidate David VanderLeest says “I don’t smoke rocks, and that’s the truth” when asked about his past legal and drug problems. I think not smoking crack is a good thing in our politicians and should be a minimum requirement at least! But since he’s a politician, and they tend to have “a way with words”, does that mean he just prefers powdered cocaine in his crack pipe? ---

[[del]Prince Rebus[/del] Reince Priebus of the RNC wants an investigation of the president’s use of the “Map Room” of the White House for fundraising purposes](http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/07/18/r-n-c-chairman-questions-obama-campaign-video/). The stupid part, is, see, the Map Room is part of the residential portion of the White House and is fine for fundraising. The RNC went off half-cocked and sent a public letter to AG Holder so we could all see how stupid they are. ---

Has this been discussed and I just missed it? Because this is gold, Jerry, gold! Darrel Issa (R-CA-razy) had congressional investigators “look into” the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission (remember them? They were to determine what caused the recent economic unpleasantness) because of alleged “partisan Democratic politics.” Turns out Issa had to cancel a hearing about it because the ONLY things it showed was that “Republican commissioners and staffers were improperly sharing the FCIC’s work with outside parties” and “that one Republican commissioner was trying to use his position on the commission to bolster the GOP’s chances of repealing financial services reform.” Oopsy.
