According to the article you cite:

> A Republican state senator from Miami is facing pressure to resign after he used the n-word to criticize several of his colleagues during an alcohol-fueled rant in front of two black lawmakers.
>
> Over drinks at a private club in downtown Tallahassee, State Sen. Frank Artiles referred to six white senators as “n—” and spewed other obscenities while complaining about the chamber’s GOP leadership, local media reported Tuesday.

So he called _white_ senators the n-word? “alcohol-fueled rant” indeed!

He claims he really said “niggas,” which is a perfectly acceptable slang term for a white guy to use in reference to other white guys. Jocular, even. Why are you reverse racists persecuting his free speech rights?

Given that the Republican minority in California is largely to blame for California’s budget problems, probably not. Indiana would still have legislators in the pocket of big booze no matter who has the majority.

Indiana was the biggest Klan state in the north back during the big Klan Resurgence of the 1920s.

The Klan was very pro-Prohibition. They were afraid that the coloreds and the Catholics and the Jews and the city people would get all hopped up on firewater and come after their women.

Trump’s election prompted them to start actively recruiting again. Residents of Indiana and Illinois reported finding Klan flyers in plastic bags at the end of their driveways.

I live in a sea of red and am always upset about my shitty representative. But then Steve King pops up his pinhead and reminds me, “it could be worse”. Thanks Steve, for making some of your shitty cohorts seem almost OK in comparison. You are a despicable human being. I am sad that we have people in the US that will support you. Of course, I am sad that we have people that will support our so-called pres.

While temporarily stationed in that hell hole incongruously named San Angelo, I read a newspaper headline to my barracks roommate about the proposal in Texas at the time to ban the sale of cold beer at gas stations. Roomy said, “Damn. I guess I’m going to have to develop a taste for warm beer.”

O my God in heaven.

We have an example of Profoundly Stupid, and Truly Alarming.

The Truly Alarming part: our Attorney General doesn’t seem to grasp that whole separation of powers thing.

The Profoundly Stupid part: he either thinks that a judge’s authority is proportional to his distance from Washington, or he thinks that Hawaii isn’t really a real state.

It was perfectly fair - when Trump came up with the idea, he was probably at Trump Tower on an island in the Atlantic.

It doesn’t matter as much what that moron thinks about Hawaii’s status. The most alarming thing is that he doesn’t understand the concept of “federal judge”.
