[The republicans are apparently moving forward with a bill to deregulate the financial sector](https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/5/1/15440408/republicans-wall-street-frank). Why? Who asked for this? Whose blinkered stupid fucking idea was it to do something like this? For most decisions in this administration, my response is, “Oh great, my birth country is becoming a worse place to live in and more of an international laughing stock, _again_, thank god I live in Germany.” But this shit? This shit right here could seriously and tangibly hurt me, and everyone else in Germany, because when the US economy goes belly-up due to the banking sector shitting itself inside-out, that tends to have serious negative ramifications for the rest of us. And it doesn’t take a genius to notice that quite a bit of the regulation on the chopping block is exactly the things put in place to help _prevent_ the banking sector from shitting itself inside out. Fucking Christ. ---
