But that only applied to children in the US, if you pack them shoulder to shoulder in cattle cars and ship them down south whole sale then they aren’t our problem. ---

I realized that I had just assumed that first-generation Mexican immigrants would speak fluent Spanish, without thinking about it. But do they? If we deport Dreamers who are in their teens, are we sending them to a place where we expect them to “fit in”, speak the language and be comfortable with the culture? Do we expect that they will be welcome? Or will they be regarded as “gringos”? ---

The city of Charlottesville, Virginia is planning on removing a statue of Robert E. Lee from a city park, although there is a temporary injunction to keep them from doing it for now. But that didn’t stop a group of torch-wielding white supremacists from showing up to show their support for the Confederacy, Russia, and the Nazis.
