Just take it out of programs that benefit blue states, Easy-peasy!

If Cantor and those like him want to play their game, I say let them. The proper response in all this would be something like:

Due to Shitheel Cantor’s whining, all money for disaster relief, totaling X, will need to be offset by reductions somewhere else. That means Cantor’s district, since they need disaster relief, will have to go without any combination of these programs that add up to X.

I think the cuts should be done by the specific representative. That way, everyone can know that Cantor cut roads and schools. Maybe also put in a rule that there needs to be signs on all major district roads (you know, as long as they’re still drivable, which shouldn’t be too long, so we can even save money on signs!) listing all the things each representative chose to cut.

All so they could get pedophile-looking Grover’s seal of approval.

Fuck that.

Most of us on this board would opine Cantor and his ilk were cunts for trying to exploit natural disasters and the people’s misery to push their political agenda. The only proper response now that these cunts need the same help to address the same misery is to give it to them. No questions asked, no strings attached. Because they’re cunts, and y’all try not to be. Don’t you ?

All right, so they’ll win at this rate. Fuck that too. If that’s winning, I’m dying to lose.

Seems to me, the only real response is to re-elect them. Which will happen in disturbing numbers, particularly with Obama and his limp flailing since he was elected.

The bitter irony of using the Galileo defense is that what happened with Galileo was the ruling political/religious powers refusing to accept accurate scientific data because it disagreed with their dogma and agenda. He was not outvoted by a scientific community, he was ignored and shunned because of existing dogma. Hmm, sound familiar, Mr. “we teach creationism”? How about those ties of yours to Oil companies in Texas?

About the question to Governor Goodhair. It was even better than that. What he was actually asked was what scientist or scientists he relys upon for his facts. Basicly, “Cite?”. And he totally punted.

Here’s a new one from America’s second-favorite Republican governor of Texas;

[Rick Perry thinks healthcare coverage rates would go up if “we didn’t have the federal government”.](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofLTxSJSqbs&feature=player_embedded)

Why exactly does Rick Perry want to be the leader of an entity that he doesn’t think should exist?

You’ve just summarized what baffles me about the current crop of Republicans. They clearly hate government. Government does not work. Government is the source of all problems. Government workers are sucking at the taxpayers teat. Taxes should go down markedly, so we can get rid of those “useless” government services. Government is actually worse than useless, it is damaging.

It’s not a matter of “We disagree with the direction of Government”, or “We think the policies should be adjusted in so-and-so manner” or “We believe the government should do such-and-so”… It’s “Government is bad”

So - why should anyone be surprised when they try to hamstring government operations, and when they actively attempt to subvert the smooth running of government activities? THEY DON’T LIKE GOVERNMENT. They are TRYING to screw it up. They’re not making a secret of this.

What I am surprised at is why anyone is following this bunch of idiots.

It would be like you have a couple of serious contenders for the position of CEO for your corporation. One of them keeps stating that Capitalism sucks, corporations can never, ever be effective, and he really believes that the profits should be donated to the proletariat so they can all start organic chicken farms. And the board is SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING this bozo!

Bad comparison; we aren’t 100% sure that devolving the government would be bad for us. It would be as if the members of the board were unsure whether or not murdering the company’s influence would be bad for the bottom line, but the analogy falls apart at the fact that, well, that’s not possible while removing government influence _could_ make the country better. Maybe. With a lot of luck.

In my analogy, the more bizarre shit you spouted about Aperture Laboratories, the more the Board would eat it up.

(“Aperture labs is an evil entity that creates profits on the death of puppies! They have made slaves of the workers and will soon try to sell their body parts!” I will destroy this company and feed it’s bones to the masses for the glory of Marx and Lenin!)

Board: “I say, this lad is looking more and more like CEO material! I think we should hire him to run our company!”
