Actually, what I think what the senator is really saying is, “yeah, we don’t really give a shit, folks. The NRA pays too well. You may as well get used to this because it’s just going to keep happening. So remember … Serpentine! Serpentine!” ---

It is really not _that_ obscure. The '79 version is as classic as _The Russians are Coming! The Russians are Coming!_ (the remake, not so much). ---
