> There are three main candidates running for governor in the Republican primary in Tennessee. They are all trying to out-Trump each other. One of the ads I saw over the weekend said “they (her opponents) are nice guys but they are _moderates_!” The horror! Who would want someone moderate when you can have an extremist? I expect to see more ads fighting it out for who is the most extreme ever.

I live in Tennessee as well. Those commercials are truly vomit-inducing!

I love how they are all talking about shutting down sanctuary cities and stopping M13. Yep, that’s what we need in a governor in Tennessee. Their supporters are truly idiots.

Speaking of Republitard racism…

Check out this Vox article on Steve King, who is about as proudly and openly racist a member of congress as you’ll find these days. The party has essentially normalized him:

> [@](#):

> A longtime Republican member of Congress is retweeting Nazis and arguing in interviews that Somali Muslims shouldn’t be permitted to work in meatpacking plants in his district — and no GOP official appears to want to publicly challenge him.

Paul Ryan, the biggest pussy of a House Speaker in the history of the position, offers his usual “I don’t agree with that” response.

I won’t be surprised when finally, a Republican offers to propose Jim Crow laws again.

It’s just the Freedom Circus. No one pays them any attention (except Fox News). And the measure won’t get voted on, and Congress goes on recess until September, so nothing will come from it.

But the trump base is cheering like their team won the Super Bowl. Stupid chumps.

Not necessarily ‘nothing.’ If Trump gets desperate enough he can use it as an excuse to fire Rosenstein and install in his place someone who will shut down the Mueller probe.

“I had to fire him–Congress had voted to impeach him! So he had to go! Sad!”

The counter-factual-in-the-extreme basis of that “excuse” would bother Trump not at all.
