Personally I think Pat should have gone down to the seashore like Canute did and put his faith to the test against the hurricane. He’d likely have had the same level of success, but at least he’d have demonstrated the strength of his convictions. Although perhaps we’ve already seen the strength of his convictions by his readiness to whore them out to profit, power and political expediency at the drop of a hat. ---
