Analogously, Trump was probably in the building when she did her chicken dance, so presumably, even if she were sincere and correct about there being a deity, it wouldn’t work on him. And according to the RCC, it isn’t really bread at that point anyway — it may look/feel/taste/digest like bread, but it’s actually the Body of Christ (substance v accident, for the philosophically inclined). Where that leaves someone who’s vegetarian/vegan, though … ---

Her specialist at the University of Chicago said it was one of the worst cases he had seen. When she was in college, she had her own toaster because one crumb of bread with gluten could cause her problems. I don’t know if she takes communion now. I’m pretty sure that that one little wafer would give her diarrhea – and perhaps blood in her stool. Serious celiac disease is nothing to mess around with. ---

When I was a practicing Catholic, I was always wary of the wine chalice for fear of catching whatever cold was floating around the congregation. Someone with celiac disease, as that article pointed out, would have to worry about cross contamination (no puns intended). I had a coworker who had an extremely severe form of celiac disease; cross-contamination was a big concern for him. Once, when we were waiting for our meals at a restaurant during a company gathering, another coworker commented that he had seen waitstaff remove a piece of bread from this poor guy’s plate…unfortunately, no one took this coworker seriously regarding anything, so his comment was ignored. It turned out that he had been telling the truth; my celiac disease coworker went home very sick that afternoon. ☹ ---

It’s very obviously an attempt to further the grift - he’s not interested in being part of the community, he’s trying to find a way to shore up his busted-ass finances by drumming up controversy. Given that the furry community is extremely LGBTQ with a lot of trans people, it should come as no surprise that he’s totally unwelcome.
