Hey, I resemble that remark! I was born in Kentucky.

I moved away when I was just 3 months old, but technically, I did come out of there.

That’s right. He’s the law and order president. There’s the law, which he ignores, and then the order he issues. Two totally different critters. What’s not to understand?

Those resorts are walled off, aren’t they? He can use the money to repair/maintain those walls and say they’re needed to protect the country’s best interests. (I.e., his.)

> …After barely a week of a partial lockdown in many parts of the country, Donald Trump and others are now complaining that overly risk-averse public-health officials are threatening to strangle the economy. Trump insists that excessive caution is counterproductive and dangerous: “THE CURE CANNOT BE WORSE (BY FAR) THAN THE PROBLEM,” he tweeted on March 22. During a briefing at the White House the next day he added: “Our country wasn’t built to be shut down. America will again, and soon, be open for business.”
>
> Conservatives have supported and extended Trump’s position. Writing in The Washington Post on March 25, the columnist Gary Abernathy claimed that both the stimulus plan passed by the Senate and the shelter-at-home proclamations had completed the nation’s march to socialism begun “incrementally decades ago.” “The delicate balance between freedom and risk was less than an afterthought as our economy was gutted in a matter of days,” …
>
> **Other conservatives have framed protective measures as a threat not only to America’s rugged individualism but to masculinity.** The Christian pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth referred to social distancers as “sissies” and “pansies” who have been “neutered,” and described Christians who use hand sanitizer as having “fake faith” and “no balls.” Another minister said he would never close his church, because his congregants were not “pansies.”

These are the people who think that it’s your fault if something bad happens to you. You didn’t believe in god enough or you had some other character deficit that caused you to get sick. And the shitheads who say that god will protect you. Well he didn’t protect the infant who died from COVID that I heard about recently. I guess that baby just wasn’t godly enough, or god punished the baby for its parents not being devout enough. I wish hell existed so these assholes who think this way could go there someday and realize, belatedly, the error and unkindness in their thinking.

> The Trump administration has finalized new fuel efficiency standards, lowering expectations from 54 miles per gallon by 2025 to 40 miles a gallon by 2030.

> [@](#):
>
> WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is expected on Tuesday to announce its final rule to rollbackObama-era automobile fuel efficiency standards, relaxing efforts to limit climate-warming tailpipe pollution and virtually undoing the government’s biggest effort to combat climate change.
>
> The new rule, written by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Transportation, would allow cars on American roads to emit nearly a billion tons more carbon dioxide over the lifetime of the vehicles than they would have under the Obama standards and hundreds of millions of tons more than will be emitted under standards being implemented in Europe and Asia.
>
> Trump administration officials raced to complete the auto rule by this spring, even as the White House was consumed with responding to the coronavirus crisis. President Trump is expected to extol the rule, which will stand as one of the most consequential regulatory rollbacks of his administration, as a needed salve for an economy crippled by the pandemic.
>
> The lower fuel-efficiency standard “is the single most important thing that the administration can do to fulfill President Trump’s campaign promise of reforming the regulatory state, and to undo the impact that the previous administration has had on the economy,” said Thomas J. Pyle, the president of the Institute for Energy Research, an organization that supports the use of fossil fuels.

Reminds me of the joke about a preacher who comes upon a group of boys who are up to no good. he lectures them a bit finishing up with, “You do want to go to heaven, don’t you?” and they all chorus yes, but for one kid who says, “Not me!”

“What? You don’t want to go to heaven when you die?”

“Oh! When I die, sure – I thought you were rounding up a bunch to go right now!”

Can I wish Johnson is collected to right now?
