# Stupid Republican idea of the day

I dunno - is there video of Gohmert saying this, or details about a larger context that might indicate that he was kidding? If he was dead-serious, then yes, I’d agree that it’s a stupid thing to say.
There may be a small nugget of significance, though - I can imagine the pipelines providing safe migration routes for caribou, if hunting is specifically banned anywhere near them. I cheerfully admit my ignorance on the subjects of caribou and hunting and oil-shipping, though.

An interesting ethical problem. Suppose you, a hunter, come across a pair of mating caribou, have a good clean shot. Now, “guy ethics” would suggest you wait until the bull caribou pops his rocks before you plug him. But then, he wouldn’t know if he was coming or going…

He went to law school. I’m pretty sure they cover “Whence do laws come from ?” at some point.

That’s actually not stupid at all. It \*sounds \*like down to earth folksy logic, but it will fuck workers in the ass so hard if they fall for it. Pretty shrewd, all things considered. More evil than a devil-sponsored lottery, but shrewd.

If men as a group are so emotionally fragile that they’ll compromise their mission in fear that their comrades will get hurt, perhaps they’re not suited for front line combat.

Also, I don’t think anyone is thinking of the tactical advantage this would give. Even the most battle-hardened Jihadi is going to shriek and run away if someone tosses a used tampon at him.

GI Jane, 5th Tampax Battalion, reporting for duty. We’ve had irregular supplies, so we’ve been borrowing from the 403rd Playtex and 181st Maxi Battalions until we can get our cycles back in sync.

Day 43: Having lost air superiority the enemy has managed to cut off our supply lines. Food, water, ammunition, very low. Casualties unable to medivac, disease is spreading through the camp. Enemy mortar took out the majority of the women in the battalion. They were having a sleep-over.
We have only 12 menstruators left. Tampon supplies are high, but we’re sending soldiers out with unsaturated pads. Some of our soldiers are forced to toss tampons with a single, small coppery blot. The Jihadis are still grossed-out, but they just sort of sneer at it for a few seconds. They don’t run.
If we can just make it to the new moon…
