The other day I made a really embarrassing Freudian slip. I was having dinner with my wife and I meant to say, “Can you please pass the salt,” but it came out, “you fucking bitch, you ruined my life.”

While i’m perfectly happy to believe that she misspoke on this particular occasion, the fact that she so easily and unthinkingly utters the words “radical Islamic policies” when talking about the Obama Administration is testament to how deeply this mindset has become ingrained in large sectors of the American conservative population.
This sort of Pavlovian reaction is most worrying precisely because it reflects not a considered, thoughtful accusation, but an unthinking and internalized set of understandings about the President, placed there by a relentless propaganda campaign over the past 4 years.

Actually, I’m not sure he knows what the fuck anachronistic means. The state has handled or at least heavily influenced schooling & education since the days of Charlemagne.

I’m surprised we haven’t brought this up yet. Stalwart Indiana state representative Bob Morris is the lone holdout refusing to support a resolution honoring the Girl Scouts on their 100th anniversary. Why is that, you say?
Like many good, wholesome, patriotic Republicans with their heads firmly wedged in their nether regions, he says the Scouts are a “radicalized organization” that promotes abortion (as a “tactical arm” of Planned Parenthood, whatever that means) and - gasp! - homosexuality. Not to mention that Michelle Obama is honorary president of the Girl Scouts, and that fact alone should give true Americans pause.
Who knew there was such a nefarious plot behind those Thin Mints and Samoas? Well, good ol’ Bob did his research online, dadgumit. There’s so much to learn from World Net Daily.

With excellent research skills like that, I can hardly wait to see some bills sponsored by Bob Morris in the future:
A bill to ensure that kidneys are not stolen from tourists.
Bill to require postcards be sent to Timmy Smith, who is dying of cancer.
Bill to regulate content of worm eggs in bubble gum.
A bill to balance the state budget by sending a small fee to a company in order to secure a large inheritance.

Yes, that’s what we should all do with every unpopular question that requires actual thought. Because _“booo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!”_ is so much easier on the tongue than _“la la la la la la la la…”._
