Oh, the Republican majority leader in Pennsylvania was even more plainspoken than that. In fact, one legislator says, [“The theory of evolution is a theory, and essentially the theory of evolution is not science — Darwin made it up.”](http://www.kentucky.com/2012/08/14/2298914/gop-lawmakers-question-standards.html) Ah, fundamentalist evangelicals, the controlling loonies of the Republican Party. The only “mainstream media” the people who need to hear this listen to is Fox News, and I rather doubt this will show up there. The second link was to a Lexington newspaper, but we all know that newspapers are notoriously liberal and thus not to be trusted. ---

The gift that keeps right on giving. Yeah, Kentucky started using the ACT as their statewide test and then got pissed that the Science portion of the test had questions about evolution. They asked ACT to write a special test just for Kentucky that would eliminate these kinds of questions and ACT told them to pound sand once they stopped laughing.
