They put party identification, personal prejudice, whatever ahead of rational judgement. Hell, even like 5% of Democrats voted for him. That’s crazy behaviour. I think you have to assume a 27% Crazification Factor in any population.

The problem with a 27% crazification level is that only 10% of Americans DON’T want some gun legislation. Does this mean we have some of the crazies on our side of this argument?

Seriously, why is this such an issue with the right wingnuts? Is there some terrorist code of conduct that forces them to turn themselves in if Obama calls it a terrorist act?

It reminds me of a few years ago, when the wingnuts were outraged over the use of “suicide bomber.” They wanted them to be called “homicide bombers,” I guess because “bomber” didn’t adequately convey the violence of the act. But “suicide bomber” tells you something significant about the type of bomber, while “homicide bomber” tells you only that the bomb didn’t go off in an empty field.

</div>

I also get annoyed when people use “tragedy” for every damn thing. I’m not a wingnut, though. I’m just a pedant. A tragedy involves the downfall of an otherwise admirable or powerful protagonist arising out of a single, possible ironic, flaw. Not every accident or crime is a tragedy. In fact, almost none of them are.

> Seriously, why is this such an issue with the right wingnuts?

Nonsense issues.

Remember flag pins? Obama got flack for not wearing a flag pin. Meanwhile, John Edwards, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain were all also not wearing flag pins on a daily basis.

But Obama got flack for it because his name sounds foreign and he’s black.

Obama didn’t say the word terrorism, even though his white house said they were treating it as an act of terror. So it’s like a game of Simon Says.

Obama isn’t really the President if he’s not wearing a flag pin and saying the word “terrorism”. He didn’t say Simon Says! You’re outta there!

Nonsense issues are what the right uses against Obama because they lose on all the actual, non-nonsense issues. So they have to criticize his word choices or fashion statements.
