Ken “I’m going to get into your cooch” Cuccinelli, having not learned from the GOP “skewed polls” debacle in 2012, creates his own [fictional poll](http://www.slate.com/blogs/weigel/2013/07/16/gop_candidate_for_governor_of_virginia_releases_fantasy_poll_to_prove_he.html) after the real [PPP poll](http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2013/07/democrats-lead-in-virginia.html#more) has him trailing by 4%.

And get this, he called his fictional poll the “RRR” poll, because the man with “cooch” in his name is nothing but juvenile. However, the best part is the [actual link](http://www.cuccinelli.com/cuccinelli-increases-lead-in-latest-rrr-poll/?utm_content=buffer7a499&utm_source=buffer&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Buffer) on Ken’s official website that reads like a 3rd grader’s playground rant:

> [@](#):
>
> “I’m not one to boast, but I truly believe we have something cooking here at RRR,” said Chris LaCivita, the firm’s founder and chief pollster. “It makes it a lot easier to get up in the morning when you’re able to constantly find favorable polling numbers without having to worry about accuracy.”

> [@](#):
>
> Our poll also shows everyone loves Ken Cuccinelli, and everyone dislikes Terry McAuliffe – they just don’t know what to believe about him.

> [@](#):
>
> Note: There is no margin of error, since RRR only produces error free surveys – and unlike PPP or DDD – we poll those actually voting (as we think that’s important).

I get the impression that Ken “I’m going to get into your cooch” Cuccinelli was trying out the role of Ken “I’m going to get stick my tongue between your cheeks” Cuccinelli. As in a sort of tongue-in-cheek dig at PPP and his opponents with some added puffery.

Sen. Lindsey Graham R, S.C. wants the US to consider boycotting the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi if Russia gives Snowden asylum. Plus Putin is a really bad guy for other stuff.

[No really.](http://nbcpolitics.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/07/17/19510080-graham-us-should-consider-olympic-boycott-over-possible-snowden-asylum?lite&ocid=msnhp&pos=6)

I don’t disagree with his characterization of Putin’s actions in Iran, Syria, etc. But making Snowden the casus belli?

I mean, an Olympic boycott worked so well last time. Boycott in 1980, withdrawal in 1989. Clearly an effective tool of realpolitik!

And the Cooch is the same guy that prosecuted [del]Galileo[/del] Michael Mann

> **[The Embarrassing Political Grandstanding of Ken Cuccinelli](https://reason.com/2013/05/06/the-embarrassing-political-grandstanding/)**
>
> If conservative hero Cuccinelli loses his bid for the Virginia governorship, he may have only himself to blame.

> [@](#):
>
> Three years ago, the attorney general launched an investigation of climatologist Michael Mann. This considerably raised Cuccinelli’s stock among movement conservatives who consider global warming a communist plot.
>
> The attorney general, however, claimed to be concerned about possible fraud. His argument: that Mann might have obtained grants by relying on work he knew to be bogus. In pursuit of that proposition, Cuccinelli demanded copies of emails Mann wrote while employed by the University of Virginia. This was not long after the Climategate scandal broke, and Cuccinelli may have been trying to replicate it.
>
> To pry the emails loose, Cuccinelli issued a civil investigative demand, hanging his hat on Virginia’s Fraud Against Taxpayers Act (FATA). Among other things, that statute – like other parts of the Code of Virginia – protects whistleblowers from retaliation. The trouble was that using FATA against Mann required a remarkably elastic interpretation of the law. Essentially, Cuccinelli argued that (1) Mann took state money, and (2) Mann’s work has been questioned by others, therefore (3) the state could investigate whether Mann had perpetrated a fraud. On that basis, you could investigate nearly any academic who does original research.
>
> As one of the courts that ruled against Cuccinelli noted, the attorney general could not identify the precise nature of the conduct that constituted the putative fraud. After all, Mann did the work for which he was paid; it’s not as if he spent his grant money on hookers and booze. And, in fact, Cuccinelli went so far as to say he was not alleging any wrongful conduct at all. He was, he said, “simply trying to . . . determine whether or not fraud had been committed.” Bet he can get you a great deal on a bridge in Brooklyn, too.

As it is obligatory to say, repeated investigations showed that climategate was a manufactured scandal, and later research by skeptical scientists showed that Mann and others were correct. Guys like Cuccinelli, that doesn’t care to waste taxpayers money seeking to prosecute scientists like a modern day Lysenko, need to be confronted.

[Well, this bullshit again.](http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/07/19/usa-fiscal-cantor-idUSL1N0FP1E520130719?feedType=RSS&feedName=marketsNews&rpc=43) No budget talks until Dems drop demands for higher taxes.

Of course, the well is already poisoned because obviously the Dems are demanding higher taxes just because that’s what Dems do. But given that it’s an act of faith among Republicans that raising taxes will cause the job creators to simply hang out on the beach drinking margaritas, thus sending the economy into a tailspin, there are a couple of interesting points in this article.

The first is that the Republicans grudgingly accepted some token tax increases last December. The second point is that far from the economy auguring into the ground, tax receipts from an improving economy were much greater than expected in June, thus putting off the day of reckoning for the next budget by several weeks.

Someone with a slightly open mind might concede that this is evidence that there’s room for a very tiny bit of compromise on the revenue front. But instead, we’re apparently going to be playing economic games of chicken with Cantor envisioning himself in the James Dean role.

Volitional creatures are those whose brains are developed enough that they can make conscious decisions. It’s an old concept used to separate human beings from animals, from back when it was believed that all animal behavior was instinctual. So no, she does not consider blacks human, and came out and baldly said it, in print for all to see. Klansmen are not always so direct. It’s almost refreshing.
