How do you process nuclear waste so it’s all water soluble? Wouldn’t that require treatment plants?

Even if so, would that increase be likely to lead to harm? The ocean is a big place, doncha’ know!

Well, we won’t really know until we try it.

Well, there are processes like PUREX. Though I don’t know why you’d want to go to all that trouble just to dump useful material in the ocean.

> The congressman prefaced his remarks by noting that he wanted to respond to comments from Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), who said recently that ongoing wildfires in Southern California have been exacerbated by a dry season that is the result of climate change. Rohrabacher, speaking Thursday afternoon before the Newport Mesa Tea Party, then launched into a discussion about how the science of global warming has been promulgated by a cabal of scientists, liberal politicians and United Nation “global government” types. These forces, who would like to usurp American liberty, could even be from Nigeria, he warned . . .

> Rohrabacher is one of many lawmakers who, despite living in a state reeling from climate disasters, denies the basic science of anthropogenic global warming. Earlier this week, Representative Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) told ThinkProgress’s Scott Keyes that he doubts that the climate is changing. As Keyes reported, Mullin’s state has suffered from problems that have grown worse from climate change, from “massive tornadoes to widespread droughts, record-breaking heat to severe winter storms.”

Rand Paul likes a dead man for Chairman of the Federal Reserve System

> [@](#):
>
> But the most interesting moment may have been when Mr. Paul was asked whom he would choose, ideally, to head the Federal Reserve and he suggested Milton Friedman — “he’s not an Austrian, but he would be better than what we have.” The interviewer then gently informed him that Friedman — who would have been 101 years old if he were still alive — is, in fact, dead.

[Over the weekend](http://news.yahoo.com/missouri-fair-clown-draws-criticism-obama-mask-004950184.html), a state fair in Missouri went a little overboard at a rodeo and dressed a clown with an Obama mask and asked the crowd if they would like to see him get run down by a bull

> [@](#):
>
> The antics led the state’s second highest-ranking official, Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, to denounce the performance in a tweet Sunday. He said it was “disrespectful” to the president.

A spectator likened the spectacle of the crowd enthusiastically cheering for the injury of the Obama stand-in to a klan rally, saying:

> [@](#):

> “They mentioned the president’s name, I don’t know, 100 times. It was sickening,” Beam said. “It was feeling like some kind of Klan rally you’d see on TV.”

[Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX)](http://www.politico.com/story/2013/08/blake-farenthold-impeach-obama-95443.html) doesn’t **want** to impeach Obama, as it would never fly in the Senate; but, he says the House has the votes to do it.

What’s worse, he said that by way of pandering to a Birther.

> [@](#):
>
> “A question I get a lot, ‘If everybody is so unhappy with the president, why don’t you impeach him?’” Farenthold, a Texas Republican, said at a town hall meeting Saturday according to a video posted on YouTube. “I’ll give you a real frank answer about that, if we were to impeach the president tomorrow, we would probably get the votes in the House of Representatives to do it.”
>
> \<snip\>
>
> Farenthold’s declaration came after a woman, who cannot be seen on the video, presents a folder to Farenthold that she says contains proof that Obama’s birth certificate was faked.
>
> “I’ll take a look at it,” Farenthold said. “I’ll tell you on the whole birth certificate issue … I think unfortunately the horse is already out of the barn on this. The original Congress when his eligibility came up should have looked into this and it didn’t. I’m not sure how we fix it.”
>
> \<snip\>
>
> “We saw what happened when President Clinton was impeached, I say this half in jest and half seriously, because hey it’s easy to laugh at President Clinton, but as a result of impeaching President Clinton, we’ve redefined what sex is to a lot of our young people and we’ve said it’s OK to lie to Congress,” he said. “I think that’s been woven into the thread of our society. And that failed impeachment attempt has actually damaged the country. What message do we send to America if we impeach Obama and he gets away with what he’s impeached for and is found innocent? What do we say then is OK?
>
> “Aside from the fact it wouldn’t be effective, I think there is some potential damage to society that would be done with a failed attempt to impeach him.”
