It was very clear that **jsgoddess** meant merely that no decent person would _even hypothetically_ agree to **SUPPORT** reinstituting slavery. Not that no decent person would even **mention** slavery in any context without vehemently condemning it. Your feigned cluelessness about the obvious difference between these two positions is getting tiresome. Granted, it was the online version, but still, if the foo shits, wear it. And you’ve confirmed that the subject of slavery is so distasteful to you that any use of it that doesn’t include a declaration of how evil it is makes you unable to react in any way other than with revulsion. That’s bias. Instead of simply agreeing with me that what the Assembleyman said was a poor analogy, you seek to make him into a slaver, even tho all available evidence that isn’t filtered through your bias doesn’t support that perception. Since he’s a lame duck anyway, perhaps we should encourage further Republican style abuses of power in the Obama administration so we can tie up some more loose ends. Any chance he can be caught gutting the EPA so we can get some stronger environmental regulations? ---

Marco Rubio (R-FL) seems to have been inspired by Ted Cruz’ minibuster of his own bill. That assemblyman is a nitwit. What he seemed to be saying is that he will do whatever his constituents want, no matter how bad and even if the guy thinks it’s not the right thing for that area. It’s likely he wasn’t thinking through the ramifications of that stand, but it’s an absurd stand and the slavery question showed that (and he ran right into it and screwed it up by standing by his position). ---
