(Although, being dead, it won’t matter then). Sheckley’s story imagined less severe punishment for non-conformance. It suggested an escalating series of non-lethal electric shocks. We might consider that for the drones. Or maybe laughing gas attacks, or something. ---

RE: Rabbit season! Drone season! – can you actually take out a UAV with small arms fire? Even if it was flying super low I’d think you’d need something with a bit more punch than a hunting rifle. Maybe they have some stinger missiles lying around. ---

Drones are pretty fragile actually - well, so are fighter planes really, but drones are even flimsier. A well-placed shotgun blast will take one out, probably. The problem is, of course, hitting it in the first place. But they’re pretty slow, too, so if you have a shotgun AND a Piper Cub, the sky’s the limit !
