I think that’s what annoyed me the most about Bush — the way he would say stuff that was technically true, but which was obviously meant to mislead the idiots he thought we were. They made a strong case that his good ol’ boy schtick was a put-on to play to his base. I can’t find any examples right now because putting “Bush not as stupid” or similar search terms is making my computer weep. ---
