Women have a way of shutting [this whole thing](http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/04/09/adviser-to-texas-gops-greg-abbott-no-evidence-that-women-are-significant-thinkers/#.U0glUvx5PPc.facebook) down - at the ballot box, that is:

> [@](#):

> An adviser to Greg Abbott, the Republican candidate for Texas governor, said this week that he had found no “evidence” to prove that any woman had been a “significant original thinker in any of the world’s great philosophical traditions.”
> …
> Murray, who Abbott cited in his education plan, argued that equal pay laws would actually hurt women by discouraging companies from hiring them, and that pay discrimination was a “myth” in the first place.
>
> The AEI scholar declared that the gender wage gap cited by liberals “all but disappears” when “education, marital status and occupations are considered.”
>
> According to Murray, the statistics were flawed because “many women prefer to stay home with their children,” or choose jobs “such as sociology, liberal arts or psychology, that pay less in the labor market.”

Why does any state even **have** an official fossil?!

Why does any state have an official anything? In this case,

They need an official State Creation Myth.

Yeah, I know; they have one, and it’s the book of Genesis, Ch. 1 and 2.

But they need that written into a resolution to make it OFFICIAL.

😕 Uh, because fossils are fucking cool?

My state has [a fuckin’ mastodon](http://www.shiawasseehistory.com/images/mastodonrush.jpg) as its state fossil. We like fossils so much that our [state stone](http://i1.squidoocdn.com/resize/squidoo_images/800/draft_lens20801595module166705455photo_1362963265_.png) is a fossil, too (Petoskey stones are seriously seriously cool).
