The man has setup a nearly impregnable little kingdom in Maricopa County where he can do no wrong and his word is law. Why would he give that up willingly? They are going to have to pull his cooling corpse from his office before he will leave. Plus he gets to play cop with Steven Segal! ---

Many years ago, I read “Lake Wobegon Days.” The Catholic priest character gave the same anti-birth control sermon every year, titled, “If You Didn’t Want to Go to Duluth, Why Did You Get on the Bus?” That was the moment I recognized that these whackos aren’t pro-babies; they’re anti-sex. Bugger them. Bugger them all with rusty gardening implements. ---
