The author, Tonya Korval, is MUCH better at characterization than John Norman (not saying much, really) and stylistically a much better writer than E.D. James, but “His Princess, His Slave,” is still very much a romance, and fits into the traditional romance genre very nicely except for the explicit kinky sex scenes and the general Gor-ness of Asteria. But “50 Shades of Gor” is what I would go with if I had to do an elevator pitch for the book. ---
