What makes the Salon article particularly galling is that to the credit of the Obama administration, the military is now acknowledging that troops were exposed to chemical weapons and need medical treatment. Bush was never known for being fond of the troops, he enjoyed using them as scenery and props, but once they were out of view, they could fuck off for all his administration cared. ---

I think Bush’s affection for the troops was genuine. After all, it was the only place he could get love for most of his Presidency. But Bush was also an extremely bad manager of the government. Now Rummy, I’m pretty sure he didn’t give a shit about the troops and they returned his disdain in spades. ---

I once met him by accident in his wife’s hometown of Fort Yukon, AK. It was a forced meeting, as I was there on business at the radar site on the edge of town and he and his wife were also out there doing their laundry at government expense. I refused to shake hands with him or have my photo taken with the cocksucker, despite his wife’s urging to “get your picture taken with Papa!” He made some off-color comments about the “liberals in Washington”. I just wanted to punch him in the balls. Fucking asshole. ---
