Republicans have [vowed](http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/04/us/politics/gop-turns-to-the-courts-to-aid-agenda.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=first-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news) to spend their time in court trying to dismantle Obamacare, the Obama immigration plan, climate change, etc., rather than tending to the business of the country. The coal mining industry has many of them in their pockets, and will spare no expense to continue raping the land and polluting the planet. Let us hope that there is still veto power after the next Presidential election, or the country could easily slide back into recession. ---

I’m not sure about that, actually - she’s kind of like a crazy-eyed Glenn Beck, and a little \*too \*batshit for prime time. Does Fox even give Sarah Palin the time of day any more ? I feel like these three are mainly relegated to being sideshow, B-side, flyover country bait these days. ---

Wait, is that even a possibility? That Republicans might split their votes and end up with Pelosi or any other Dem as Speaker? Has anything like that ever happened before? ---

There is in fact no statute, Article/section/clause or Amendment/section/clause that requires the house to select one of its own members as speaker. For all we know, the Rs could band together to install Mooselini as speaker. ---

Under current conditions, no, it’s not a possibility. The parties each select their candidate for Speaker in caucus, and then it goes to a vote in the House. There is no chance that the Speaker in the next session will not be a Republican. I’d also give Gohmert next to no chance in the caucus, but I’m not as wedded to that statement as I am to the first. ---
