See, this is the problem with requiring the president to be born in the US. To get a real authentic leftie you have to import them from Europe. Some domestic knock-off will never be the same as the real thing. ---

This Shakespalin thing is a fascinating example of how much of an over-the-top character Palin has become. After the 2008 election I thought she’d become a forgotten historical footnote, but now I’m thinking that a century from now she’ll be a mythical figure like Paul Bunion and Johnny Appleseed, and people will wonder if such a person really existed. ---

Representative Michele “Batshit” Bachmann (R, Loonball) [formed the Tea Party Caucus today](http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-07-21/bachmann-23-other-republicans-attend-first-tea-party-caucus-in-congress.html). Only time will tell how stupid this move will prove to be, but any potential schism in the Republican united front is a good thing, IMO. ---

I was just using his comment to air my own pet peeve: their habit of capitalizing words in headlines. Something I will admit that they’ve been doing much less of lately. Oh, and I’m seeing Mark Ruffalo and Willie Nelson. ---
