Over in Kansas, which seems to be trying very hard to become the stupidest state in the union, a legislator has introduced a bill that would “[require the governing boards of community colleges and state universities to implement policies prohibiting employees from providing titles when authoring or contributing to newspaper opinion columns, which includes letters, op-eds and editorials.](http://cjonline.com/news/2015-02-05/legislation-bans-professors-using-titles-newspaper-columns)” That’s if what they’re doing is writing about “lawmakers, the governor or other elected officials”. Free speech, anyone? ---

In our Sunday School we got a few stories from the Old Testimonial. Samson, little David, stuff like that. Wasn’t till later I read the parts about smiting hip and thigh, and what happened to the Amorites and the Cannanites and the Sodomites and the Gomorrahnians. Shit load of smiting going on. But it was all OK because God said so. He had _already_ sorted them out, so… ---

I would hope that the audience of the President of the United States, at ANY public function, would be the people of the United States, not just a bunch of evangelical Christianists present in the room. ---
