This stuff that Jeb Bush dumped is in the public record?

> [@](#):

> In one concerning exchange, a military veteran petitions Governor Bush to help his daughter fight charges that she provided marijuana to students while working as a substitute teacher. The emails include the daughter’s first and last name, a description of her mental health issues, the school where she was a substitute teacher and other personal details. The outcome of the young woman’s legal battle is unknown, but her case does not appear to have been covered in the news at the time. Her father’s now-public emails to Bush contain the kinds of damning details that could potentially damage her chances at employment.

Is it fair to dislike Obamacare because it’s not sufficiently like single-payer?

I kind of see the “dislike” in the two cases as qualitatively different. I can understand and agree with not liking Obamacare because it doesn’t go FAR ENOUGH. That’s the standard left-wing criticism of it.

The standard right-wing criticism of it involves abolishing it and basically going back to the healthcare system as it was pre-ACA, which is not thoughtfully critical. It’s insane and criminally heartless.

> Slate dissects [one aspect](http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2015/02/10/plaintiffs_in_king_v_burwell_obamacare_suit_might_not_have_standing.html)of the anti-Obamacare lawsuit (King v. Burwell) due to be heard by the SCOTUS this session: The proponents may have made a huge error by not being able to find anyone who has standing to challenge the law.
>
> The article summarizes:
>
> The problem reminds me of the Prop 8 case which was thrown out on standing issues by the SCOTUS. Apparently, the 4 plaintiffs found by the conservatives to challenge the case have standing issues. One may not live in a state with the federally run exchange, two of them are veterans and exempt from the penalty, and one makes too little to qualify for a penalty. The stupid Republicans who cobbled this case together could not do this case from a class action standpoint because, as we all know, the people who benefit from the health insurance do not want to challenge it and have it taken away. So they found 4 saps and threw together a case.
>
> I hope that the case will be thrown out on standing, or maybe the judges will just rule that the federal mandate is Constitutional. The case is shaky anyways and only time will tell which leg the SCOTUS kicks out from this stupidly partisan, and apparently ill-conceived case. Of all the millions of people who “suffer” under the health care law that the GOP are pretending to care about, they couldn’t even find one person who actually understands the case and has legal standing to challenge it and wants to do it. It just goes to show that this nakedly partisan case and the calls to repeal Obamacare was NEVER done to help people, for states rights, or whatever bullshit reasons the GOP says it is this week. They simply don’t care how many people they hurt and kill (estimates that 9800 people a year will die without the health care law), they want to deny Obama any win. Nobody should take anyone on this board seriously who says they don’t like Obamacare for any reason other than they hate Obama and Democrats

I saw this story this morning in the Wall Street Journal of all places and thought of starting a thread on it’s own. The first plaintiff you mentioned gave her address as a $200 a week motel on the Interstate in Virginia, and the people who work there says she hasn’t been there in ages. Her Facebook page has a ton of posts about Obama the “Anti-Christ” and how his Muslim people got him elected.

Republicans, even the smart ones, are so deep in the echo chamber that they think that what gets a pass on Fox News or talk radio is good enough for the Supreme Court. They just don’t get that over half the country lives in a reality based world, and that the barest of rational thought should be applied when venturing out of said chamber.

It took eight years before they finally came to the conclusion that Sarah Palin really is an incompetent moron.

These people are unbelievable.

P.S. The Wall Street Journal seems to finally be coming to it’s senses about the current state of the Republican Party. There have been a couple of articles and even Op-Eds criticizing them recently.

Only some of them. John McCain still stands by her.

Evidently, he thinks it’s a virtue to never admit you’re wrong. I think it’s a sign that even if he hadn’t chosen her, the US dodged a 16-inch shell by electing Obama. I wonder how many wars we would be in today if McCain had won?

Jeb Bush’s new IT guy resigned today after it was reported that he made tweets about how there is no such thing as a black community or black leaders, and Martin Luther King was anti-affirmative action and didn’t shuck and jive or talk jibberish like other blacks do.

The thing that surprised me the most about his posts is that he attacked the Pledge of Allegiance as being the opposite of what the Tea Party stands for.

Not vaccinating your kids because you own them is nothing. You should also be able to starve your children to death and we should do away with child labor laws because, among other things, it artificially raises adults’ wages.

I love how the guy’s awful blog was unearthed by Huffington Post writers using The Wayback Machine, a technology so advanced and mysterious that not even the impressively tech savvy Jeb Bush could have foreseen its use as a political tool.

_shrug_ Florida has a _very_ broad public records law. If you don’t want your personal information in the public record, you shouldn’t send it to state employees. There’s a very prominent disclaimer on every state agency’s website.

It’s one thing to lie about stuff like this that affects your moron constituency not one bit, but they went and tanked the economy of the state as well in a grand experiment of radical right-wing ideas. That’s a little harder to explain, even to morons.
