In fairness to Walker, whom I loathe, the state will “only” borrow $200 million towards the new Bucks arena. The $300 million taken away from the university (over two years) will not go directly to the arena. There are pie in the sky estimates of some additional $10 million per year tax revenues due to the arena. Those “revenues” are supposed to fund the bond repayments. I call B… S… on that. Problem is, Walker will have moved on by the time we know for sure. More of that $300 MM will likely go to Walker’s contributors in the highway construction industry and tax breaks for millionaires. ---
