May I hijack this thread to pose a question? (I almost posted it in a non-BBQ thread, but didn’t want to risk a Moderator warning.)

Baboons understood the need for coercive taxation as early as the time Oog-oog told his nephew to share his banana.  
There was a recent thread on post-Neolithic shrinking of human brain size. Has this been related to political trends?
