I saw this on Wheel of Fortune. This lady is having the luckiest spinning round I have ever seen and has over $30,000 in her bank with the answer obviously being “Chocolate Custard Pie”. Her guess was “Chocolate Mustard Pie”. ---

I’ll never forget the Wheel of Fortune episode on which I first heard the expression “happy as a clam.” It was “phrase”: \_ \_ \_ \_ Y AS A \_ \_ \_ M One guy decides to solve. “Lucky as a worm,” he says. Even now, years later, I occasionally stop to wonder in what way a worm could be considered lucky. ---

Wheel of Fortune: Actual answer is “having a nightcap.” Man guesses “Hanging a nightcop.” Pat Sajak is incredulous, and shouts, “This is _Wheel of Fortune_!” as if to say that hanging policemen, no matter what time of day is not only strange, but not good game show fodder. ---

Last puzzle of the half-hour, category was **things** and the contestant guessed “pill pushers”. And Pat Sajak shouted “This is _Wheel of Fortune_!” ---

The thing about Family Feud is that dumb answers aren’t always dumb, because they’re frequently up on the board. Being dumb is definitely not a flaw on that show, just as long as you’re dumb in the same way that a lot of other people are dumb. I’m thinking in particular of the “excited” answer (Name something people feel before they buy it). I like that answer a lot more than any ‘actual’ answers to the question. ---

Howard Stern quizes Strippers on general knowledge type questions for prizes. I recall some funny ones off hand: Who won the Civil War? - We did How many sides on a pentagon? - 7 He was the first president of the U.S.? - Lincoln Who did the U.S. fight in World War II - Mexico and many, many misses on questions like what is 5 times 20 (consistent answers like 60) or what is 120 dived by 40 (answers something like 20)… I will/cannot swear this is not like WWE “entertainment sports” but I will say they _seem_ to be trying ---

How many Americans know Tony Blair’s party? And for the record, the President isn’t even the leader of his party. I did once see an episode of _Wheel of Fortune_ where the guy had the wheel down pat, consistently getting the $10,000 space (which is only a third of a normal space, flanked by two "bankrupt"s), but didn’t have any wording skills. He didn’t make any particularly spectacular blunders, though.
