I don’t understand why Mr. Hollywood is looking at the pregnant women with “ridicule and amusement.” As far as I know, people in Hollywood manage to reproduce quite regularly. He should not be that amused… ---

I have to say, it’s a little over the top. No, upon reflection, it’s a lot over the top. I will say that I took a look around the web site at some of the other work this artist has done. His work may never hang in a world-famous museum, but it’s not bad–I’d call him more of an illustrator (like Norman Rockwell or Norman Mingo) more than a fine artist (like, say, Van Gogh or Monet or Michelangelo or Rembrandt). Nothing wrong with being an illustrator though, and this fellow has certainly done some non-religious and non-political landscapes and rural scenes. Perhaps he’d do well to stick to mountains, meadows, old cabins, and similar rather than venturing into religion and politics. ---

I’m really curious why Businesswoman is all huddled down with the righteous, but he can’t think of anything to say about her. Thomas Jefferson looks like he’s clenching that rolled up Declaration ready to whup ass on the bunch of zombies assembled here. He probably well knew it was coming. ---

And, I don’t get this: the Black student, on in there with the righteous in corner left, holds in his hands some books, which, in the most elaborate decription of Read This Tome, says that one Cleon Skousen was the man the Student should adhere to. I’d never heard of him, but looked him up. and [here](http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2009/09/16/beck_skousen/index.html) is one take. Feel free to give other opinions, but, I can’t figure how any take on Cleon Skousen’s writings would make a earnest young Black student want to follow. Really, WTF up with this weird portrayal. "Um , well, need some Black folks down in there in with the righteous quadrant, so let’s have an earnest student, and load him up with our bullshit, cause, well, that’s what we do best… ---

Wow, I read the original captions and am blown away by the sheer nutbaggery. A couple of points: the artist Jon McNaughton is apparently Mormon, which explains why Jesus is hugging the Constitution and hanging with the Founding Fathers. Mormons believe that the Constitution was inspired by God just so that Mormonism would have a kick-ass country to be born in. They tend to ignore the fact that many of the founders were deists or not religious. The artist being Mormon also explains why the college student is holding a copy of Cleon Skousen’s claptrap “The Five-Thousand Year Leap.” Skousen was Mormon, as is current nutbag Glenn Beck who is promoting the hell out of Skousen’s book for some reason. (You can read **elelle** ’s link to the Salon article about Beck and Skousen.) The artist must not have got the memo that Mormons are generally agnostic on the topic of evolution (Mr. McNaughton’s alma mater BYU has a biology department that teaches evolution). I guess when you’re sucking up to the science-hating far-right, evolution-believing professors are the first to get tossed in the hell-fire. ---
