# Subtypes of Logical thinking?

What are the different types of logical thinking other than inductive, deductive and predicate? Thank you.

It’s a strange question–the three categories aren’t at the same level, in the sense that predicate logic is a _type_ of deductive logic. For this reason, “predicate” doesn’t seem like it belongs on the list.

I’m not sure exactly how to answer your question. Can you tell me why you’re asking it? That might help me get an idea of what you’re looking for.

According to pragmatist philosophers such as Charles Sanders Peirce, there’s also [abductive reasoning](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abductive_reasoning), but there is some controversy as to what exactly they mean by that.
