Shiv out of the company doing her own thing was probably as happy as she ever got to be, as she gets pulled in to the world of her father she becomes increasingly unhappy and out of her depth. She has flashes of competence throughout the series. ---

That sounds like Ivanka, with one key difference- Ivanka seemed competent in her father’s real estate world (pre-2017), but in his political world, her weaknesses were more exposed. Shiv, of course, had some career outside her father’s properties. The question of competence never really comes up, so let’s give her the benefit of a doubt and say she was good at her job of spouting well-sounding political bullshit for a mid 6-figure income. Regardless, to your point, pretty sure Ivanka was increasingly unhappy with her situation from 2017-2021, just as Shiv became increasingly unhappy with hers. ---

I don’t know, she gets a cut of the $2b bribe the Saudis funneled through Jared. I don’t think there are exact character maps for any real life people from the show. It’s about a moneyed family of assholes in a corrupt America; once you’ve seen one asshole, they all kind of look like another. ---
