I remember when it first came out, suddenly EVERYTHING had NutraSweet. I can stand it in diet sodas and yogurt, but other things…eh, it depends. You know, I don’t get the “our bodies don’t break it down!” argument-to these nutjobs, wouldn’t that be a good thing? It just passes right through you, and your body doesn’t take any of the bad chemicals-they just leave through the backdoor! ---

I was wondering what a compound would take like if, instead of swapping Cl’s for OH’s, as in sucralose, you used F’s instead? Bring it even closer to teflon, at least in a very crude formulaic sense. Would it be sweeter? More stable? As an extra bonus, you could get the tinfoil hatters in the John Birch society involved too! Imagine the Gen. Jack D. Ripper jokes! ---
