lung, throat or mouth cancer too. A different, but still off-putting, aroma that leans the same way.
Updates next year’s list.
I’m kidding, really.

My DIL just told me they had been smelling a corpse like smell just last week.
Mostly in the bathroom and the twin boys room.
She searched for some food they had dragged there(or something worse)
Nothing turned up.
She sprayed Pooph everytime she smelled it.
Then the 3rd day the twins went to swim class the swim coach told her they thought one or both had ear infections, from the odor.
From the ear? Who knew that could happen?

May not help. I live in a small city of over 65K people, part of a larger interurban area of about 1.2 million people, and a few years ago one of the streets where I walk to work had a dead skunk on the treelawn of one of the houses.
Which the homeowners in question did NOTHING about while said skunk continued to decompose, all through the summer.
And this is one of the supposedly “nicest”, most expensive and historic neighborhoods in town. (Not the one I live in, the one I walk through on the way to work.) You better believe that my respect for those particular neighbors has gone WAY down.
At least out in the boonies you’re unlikely to be bothered by any dead decomposing skunks except ones on your own property, where you have the resources and the authority to shove their offensive cadavers underground.
Your city doesn’t have dead animal pick-up?
I actually called for an almost-dead squirrel. The guy actually came out and picked it up.
